Peter Boehm
Peter Michael Boehm (born 1954 in Kitchener, Ontario) is a Canadian diplomat. 2008-2012 he was ambassador of Canada to Germany. He is Associate Deputy Minister at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. He serves concurrently as the Canadian "Sherpa" or Personal Representative of the Prime Minister for the G-8 Summits, as well as the Nuclear Security Summit. ==Education== His parents stem from the German community in Siebenbürgen before they emigrated to Canada. He is married and has four children.〔(Peter Boehm became Canada's ambassador to Berlin (in German) ), Siebenbürgische Zeitung, 6. Oktober 2008〕 Boehm holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Edinburgh, a Master of Arts degree from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs of Carleton University and an Honours B.A. in English and History from Wilfrid Laurier University.
